Construction of a new Headquarters, Showroom, Training and Assembly facility for Star Micronics.
Raynesway in Derby

Carter Construction Ltd have assisted in the relocation
of Star Micronics from their current home in Melbourne,
Derbyshire, to a new, front-line, modern facility on
Raynesway in Derby. Working with Morgan Industrial
Properties as Site Owner and Developer, and in
conjunction with Lyall and Lyall – Architects and
Designers, and AJS Structural Engineers,
we are currently in the Frame and Cladding
stage of the works, with fit out to follow.
We also had to overcome extremely difficult ground
conditions, and a raised floor level, due to local flood
risk issues. Working with Vibro Menard, we installed
a ground bearing, dynamic solution of Vibro Stone
Piles to support the main building pad foundations,
and the floor slab. This allowed a cost-effective and
traditional construction solution, without excessive

Lotan Ltd - Phase 2
Extension to original pahse 1

Working with the same team of Richard Julian Associates (Project Managers), Stephen George and Partners (Architects), and BSP Consultants (Structural Engineers), Carter Construction provided the new extended facilities to Phase 1. Works were completed in 20 weeks, without disturbing the existing operations onsite – a vital requirement to the business. Connections were made to the existing building, without removing the original gable, and completely finished internally, without removing the connecting internal walls – allowing continuous operation of the Clients manufacturing processes.
NCS - Phase One
Multi-Stage Construction Project

Part of a multi-stage construction project, Phase One works involved the formation of a small extension to an existing industrial unit. Located on the Ascot Drive Industrial estate in Derby, the project required extensive steel and cladding works, as well as minor repairs to the existing building.
Completed on time, to budget and to complete client satisfaction we are looking forward to begin Phase Two operations in the near future.

Carter Construction was instructed to carry out remedial works to an existing industrial unit in Leicester, after the original contractor failed to meet the terms of their contract. After originally been unsuccessful at tender stage, Carter Construction's work involved the complete break-out and re-casting of the reinforced concrete slab, the inclusion of additional structural steels and a complete internal fit-out – Including painting and decoration, tiling, plastering and Sanitary-ware.
Specialist contractors were required to install the liquid oxygen distribution pipe work, air compressors and conveyors painting system, with all work overseen by our site manager Phil Bates. All work was completed on time, all to the satisfaction of our client.
Lotan Limited in Leicester
Design and Build of New Industrial Unit
Project Value: 1.3 million
Project: New Build, Leicester.
Construction has completed the design and construction of a new industrial unit on the Ashton Business Park in Leicester in the summer of 2013.
Works began in late April and in just 24 weeks, the entire project, including all internal and external work, was fully constructed.
In partnership with BSP Consultants as structural engineers, and Stephen George & Partnership as the architects, the completed product was a 31,000 sq ft, steel portal framed industrial unit, to be used by Lotan Ltd, in Leicester.
Construction involved the used of state of the art, concrete laser levelling systems to form the composite floor and external concrete slab, as well as extensive cladding works, and a complex mechanical and electrical fit out, complete with renewable energy systems.
The project was handed over in 2013, completed on time, to budget, and all to the satisfaction of the client.
